Your post is unclear. We have no idea where you are typing.
All autocompletion data is lost when you create a new profile. It will only
be repopulated as you send messages unless you make the effort to migrate
your former autocompletion cache.

Russ,
Let me try to explain again what is going on. Prior to my reinstallation of
Outlook 2003, when I would begin to type in the last name of a person in the
"To:" the information from my address book would appear similar to
autocomplete. For example, if i typed "Valen" autocomplete would pop up and
show "Russ Valentine <russval@gmail.com>". After reinstalling Outlook 2003
the autocomplete is empty. Let say I sent an email to
"John@barcodedauctions.com" and this email address is in my address book
associated with John Doe. Now when I type Doe or John nothing shows up in
autocomplete. When I type the letter "J" autocomplte does will show
"John@barcodedauctions.com" instead of "John Doe
<john@barcodedauctions.com>". Ok hope this makes sense now.
Thanks,
J

Correct, if you've created a new mail profile.

Correct. Autocompletion is not connected with your Contacts in any way
whatsoever.

Most likely because you entered the address manually the first time you sent
a messge to that address after reinstalling instead of choosing it from your
Contacts folder.
