Running Outlook 2000 on Win XP Pro in Corporate mode,
accessing mailbox on Exchange server(also 2000). You can
access the contacts folder just fine. I also created a
new contacts folder in the user's personal folder and
added it as an Outlook address book.

If you go into the address book and choose either of the
Outlook Address books from the list, Outlook hangs, then
shuts down. I've tried removing the Contacts folders from
the Outlook Address Book service and adding it back with
no change. Also ran "detect and repair" with no change.
All latest patches for both XP and Office have been
applied. Any ideas on how to correct this problem?

Let me guess. Did this just start after you applied SP3?
