Hi!

Concerning Outlook 2002/XP and Exchange 2000 server.

I need to make the default selection for the field "Show names from" in the
"To" selection box differ from "Global Address List" to another Custom
Address List. Is this possible? I don't want to change the Global Address
List - just change the Default selection.

If it's possible to do from within the User GPO in AD it would be fine -
then it would be possible to select the right Address List be default
depending of witch group the user belong to in the AD.

Kind Regards
Mogge

Can this be right?

Is this to difficult to answer? :-)

I know that a part of my question is answered in some other reply in the
newsgroup but it's acctually the part about controlling it from within GPO
that I am mostly interesseted in.

Please... MVP's... have any of you an answer??

Very kind regards
Mogge

I haven't seen the reply from the other posting but you can control the
default from the Tools || Option menu in the Address Book, whether you can
control this by GPO, have you checked the adm template from the resource
kit.

Hi Noel!

Great to hear from you!

Yes I have checked the "normal" adm template - I'm wondering if there is any
other template or maybe some other trick to manipulate the reg. db. to set
the default  Address list.

Kind regards
Mogge

All I can suggest and I hope I am not sending you on a wild goose chase is
to alter the listing and use a utility like regmon to track any changes in
the registry, this might give you a starting point.

Outlook provides no way to manage that setting. You might see if some of the mail-profile tools listed at http://www.slipstick.com/exs/olroam.htm#tools can help.
