Contact Info Partly Missing

Outlook2000, WinXP Home

I have 2 sets of Personal folders in my Folder List.  One is titled
Outlook Today and the other is titled CBC.  Over the weekend I had to
use the 2GB crop tool to reduce my pst file size.  Ran Inbox Repair
Tool and got back in to Outlook.  My Contacts are all there, but only 1
is in the Contacts Folder on the Outlook Today and the other 2478 are
in the Contacts Folder for CBC (which is where I would expect to find
them).

When I click on Contacts folder in CBC, I can see the A-Z list of
contacts but:

(1) the Contact name is not visible unless I double click on one of the
blank gray bars that should contain the Contact's name in bold font.
All the other basic info for the Contact is visible in the A-Z view
(address and phones).  When I double click on one of the blank gray
bars the Contact record displays and it the Contact Name appears in
full in the Name field but the Address field is blank (although the
address correctly appears in the A-Z view).

(2) Attempts to view a selected group of Contacts by using the A-Z sort
buttons continue to return all 2478 records

Any suggestions?

OK, I am continuing to fiddle with this.  I saw another post about
blank gray bars.  It suggested that the Save As field was corrupt.  So
I pulled up a few contacts to test.  Although the name appeared
correctly (Last, First) in the Save As field, I went ahead and changed
it to Save As (First Last) and clicked Save and Close.  That filled the
name into the gray bar.  Then I went back into the record and reset
Save As to Last, First.  When I did Save and Close this time the name
filled in the gray bar and displayed as Last, First.  It required a
two-step process.  These records now also alphabetize correctly.

This is progress.  Unless someone comes up with another suggestion I
will double edit each of my 2000+ records in this manner.

The address is still not showing up in the individual Contact record.
Unless someone has another suggestion I will cut and paste it from the
A-Z view (where it does show up) to the individual record.

Not really looking forward to these 5000 manual edits, but it beats
reinputting all the data manually.
