Try exporting the Contacts folder to a CSV (Comma Seperated Values) file
using the File menu > Import & Export command. See if Notes will allow you
to import that.

I could be doing something wrong but I could not get it to appear in lotus
notes. Is it possible to run Lotus on my Dell pda?

I doubt it

If you open your address book in Notes is the File menu > Import command
there. It is on my copy (6.5.x)
