Hi. Recently, when I try to send an email and begin to enter an address in
the To: box, Outlook offers an address that is not in my Contacts list and
is, in fact, an incorrect address.
I need to know where this address might be coming from and how to get rid of
it.
I cannot find a .NK2 file.
Please help.
Thanks,
Andrew

The next time you see it, highlight it and hit the Delete key

Tried that. It deleted the address from the To: line but it showed up the
next time I tried the address.
The address should be xxx@optonline.net but comes up as xxx@optonlne.net (no
"i"). Where else could it be reading from but my Contacts? Thanks

Did you highlight it in the dropdown (not in the To field itself)

Remove individual addresses from the autocompletion cache by highlighting
the entry when presented in the suggested names list (use your arrow key to
migrate to the entry) and then hitting your Delete key before you tab out of
the field. If your autocomplete list contains only a single entry, use the
directions here:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;289975

To clear the entire cache, follow the instructions here:

Many thanks. I see why you're an MVP!
