Organizing Contacts

I was given over 900 contacts from my predacessor - they are not organized
consistently though. I want to organize them all under the "file as" feature:
Last Name, First Name (company).  I saw how to set the deafult setting this
way for new contacts but what about the existing contacts?  I don't want to
do it individually if I can help it.

Thanks

Andy

You'd have to run code to do it:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;291144&Product=ol2002

Hey Russ:

The link you gave me was for OL2002 - I have OL2003 and Im having a hard
time navigating the instructions due to the differences.

Anything for OL2003?

Thanks

Hello again Russ:

The code may not be different but getting to the screen in which you enter
the code, those instructions are different.  For example, the instructions in
the link you were nice enough to provide me with, instruct the user to open a
new email message and open the tools menu of the new email message and then
click on "forms", etc etc.  Those options are not available.  Basically,
there's a different route that the user has to take to get to the control
toolbox to start the process.

Any idea how to do this for OL2003?

Thanks again Russ - my email address is andrewh@medical-action.com if it
woul dbe easier to communicate.

Thanks.

Andrew

No, but they can get you pointed in the right direction in one of the
programming groups.
