I have some contacts which I'd love to be able to send with either a Bill or
William  or Jim or James etc,  If I do an alt K of course, it only has one
item listed so I have to make sure I know what it is in my contacts.  I
don't want to make a second contact so I don't have to remember to update
both when something changes.  If there is an alias or some other feature for
a contact I would appreciate the info.

Thanks

Post your Outlook version.
State by which method you want to enter recipients: autocompletion,
autoresolution, select from Contacts, select from Address Book, etc.

Outlook 2003 SP2.

I would like to be able to press alt-k to find their contact by both william
and bill but without putting "william bill jones" in their name or anything
like that.  I would also like to have them in my cache look up.
I keep all my contacts in my contacts.

No such option. If you want to use autoresolution, either the first or last
name field must contain the name on which you want to search. For more
advanced searches, use your Contacts Folder.

Thanks - If you have the link to the MS outlook feature request - I'll add
this.

Good idea. I'd be willing to bet that this is an area that will get
attention in upcoming versions. Searching within the Address Book is overdue
for some improvements, and these are frequent requests.

The process to make suggestions to Microsoft has changed. To submit product
or service suggestions to Microsoft:
 1. Within the specific Microsoft Office product, navigate to the Help
menu.
 2. Click the "Contact Us" option.
 3. You can then use the "Make a Suggestion" link on the webpage to submit
any suggestion. This posts the suggestion to the "Microsoft Community". The
Microsoft Community is a public forum where you can submit suggestions for
Microsoft products and see suggestions that others have made. Community
participants vote for suggestions, and Microsoft uses the votes to help
prioritize features in upcoming versions.

Thanks - I've posted a suggestion.  Hopefully more people will contact MS
about that it would be nice if they did some more work on outlook.  The
other big things I'd love -
Opening two profiles at the same time!
Doing a search through my e-mails and automatically have it display both to
and from - I hate searching my sent items and having to manually choose
fields and have to select to - I'm pretty sure if it is in my sent items I
sent it - what the heck is wrong with MS - how many more versions before
they correct that one!!

Why can't you just customize your view to display the fields you want?
I suspect Outlook is capable of more than you've discovered.

You can customize your view after a search, I don't know of a way to get it
to STICK before a search so I don't have to modify it every time I close
outlook and go back in and search.

BTW - I asked an engineer this at the last big show and he said it couldn't
do that - in a tone as if to say - why would anyone want that.

You haven't made it very clear what you are trying to do. I was talking
about customizing the view of your Sent Items Folder to display the fields
you want. That will certainly persist. You must be talking about something
else.

When I do a SEARCH of my mailbox for e-mails - I want it to know I searched
in my sent e-mails and always show the TO field.
