What do you mean? Outlook does not send email to phone numbers.
Just make sure you enter only the email address as the recipient. How are
you selecting the recipients now?

i am creating an email message going to to opening distribution list which
shows ie alan smith - email then alan smith business fax alan smith bus tel -
even tho alan is only one contact card from that group - so i highlight all
the contacts as i cant go thro each one and de3lete i have 300 plus emails in
their then i get the errors

This makes no sense. You cannot put phone numbers into a DL. Fax numbers,
yes. But not phone numbers.
You cannot be using a DL. DL's do not contain Contact cards. They contain
only valid electronic addresses.
This is an end user error, not an Outlook error. If you select a Contact
Record and send a message to a Contact, then it will of course go to every
electronic address that Contact has.
Enter only the electronic addresses you want as recipients.
