I imported a contacts and a distribution list folder from my old
computer to my new one.  When I have My Contacts open and have the
Contacts highlighted I see all my contacts and when I click on
Distribution List I see all my lists.  I can email to a distribution
list if I right click on it and send "new message to contact".

But when I have a new email open and I click on TO:, I get that error,
"Address List cannot be displayed",etc., I click OK, then I have 2
"Contacts" in the list and if I click on the 2nd one, all my contacts
are there to chose from.  But, if I click on Distribution list it gives
me that error again and it will not open it at all.

Help!!  Thanks in advance.

Two separate problems.
1. You cannot import DL's. They do not survive. That's one of many reasons
we tell people not to import Contacts.
2. After an import you will have an invalid reference to a Contacts Folder
in your Outlook Address Book. How you remove it depends on your Outlook
version which you failed to include. For some versions you would remove it
here:
Tools > E-mail accounts > View or change existing directories or address
books > Outlook Address Book > Change. >

Thanks Russ.  I do use Outlook 2003.  The contacts suggestion worked
perfect!

I guess I will just recreate my distribution lists from my contacts.
Thanks again.

And if you ever need to transfer your Outlook information in the future,
just copy your PST and open it in Outlook.  No exporting/importing needed.
