What Outlook version are you using now? Only the long abandoned IMO mode of
Outlook 2000 permitted sharing with OE.

Outlook 2000 SP-3 (9.0.0.6627) is the version installed on both machines. I
figured if it worked on my desktop it would work the same on my laptop but I
must not have set the two up the same when I installed on the laptop.

Well see if you did. It's the mail support mode we need to know:
Corp/Workgroup or Internet Mail Only (IMO).
If you aren't sure, look at Help | About.

It's set for Internet Mail Only on the desktop and I changed the laptop to
the same but still don't see the Outlook addresses in Outlook Express. Is
there more to do?

Go to Outlook Express. Enable sharing it its Address Book (Tools > Options).

I am using MicroSoft Office 2003 on three networked computers. How do I sync
up my calenders and contacts so each time I make a change it will show up on
all the calenders/contacts? Please advise.
