Hi I have started to use Outlook 2002 (XP) after previously using outlook
express. I am having trouble importing my outlook express address book to my
contact folder. The problem is I like to store contacts by first name then
last, but after importing them they are visa versa. I have tried various
options in TOOLS > OPTIONS > PREFRENCES > CONTACTS > CONTACT OPTIONS
(deleting the entire contacts list before a new try) with out successes.
Thanks in advance

Hi,
Try removing and re-adding the Outlook Address Book and then try to change
the settings.
Tools-> Email Accounts-> View or change existing Directories and Address
Book-> Remove Outlook Address Book and re-add by clicking on Add-> Other
Additional Address Books->Outlook Address Book. Click Finish.
Close and restart Outlook.
Then go to Tools->Email Accounts-> View or change existing Directories and
Address Book-> Change-> and change the fields for 'Show names by'.
Close and restart Outlook.

Maybe this will help:
In OL go to Tools, E-Mail accounts, and enter a dot in View or Change . . .
Highlight your OL Address Book (if not already highlighted) and select
Change. In the window that opens you can switch your setting for Show Names
By.

Thankyou Mittu and Joe, for the time you took to help me out. Unfortunately
after trying your solutions I am still left with the last name first? I think
I am going to end up going through all 425 contacts and individually changing
the display as option!!! Unless some other kind sole out there has another
solution??
