contact folders/email addresses

I have Outlook 2002 and I am running Windows XP
Professional. When I try and send a new email none of my
folders or names in those folders appear? I tried to
click on the contact folder/properities/outlook address
book/show this folder as an email address, but I am not
able to check the box? Any suggestions would be greatly
appreciated. Thanks!
