I have upgraded from Hotmail to Outlook 2003, but my 'contacts' in the former
haven't transferred to the latter (as I expected). Please advise how I can do
this.

Regards,

Dick

Outlook 2003 is not an upgrade from Hotmail.  Hotmail is a server.  Outlook
is a client.  Outlook can reference data on the Hotmail server under certain
conditions..

I don't see any indication in Hotmail's options that you can export your
contacts.  However, if you have Hotmail Premium and the Outlook Connector,
you should be able to open your Hotmail folders in Outlook and copy the
contents of the Contact folder to a local PST.

Thank you, but my internet expertise is limited. I have 'Hotmail' as opposed
to 'Premium', and I'm not sure what you mean by 'Outlook Connector'

There are three levels of Hotmail access - the free level that can be
accessed only via a web browser, Hotmail Plus, that can be referenced from
within Outlook or Outlook Express, but only as a non-delivery data store,
and Hotmail Premium which also includes an add-on called the Hotmail
Connector that allows Hotmail to be the delivery location (i.e., where all
your data is located).  See http://join.msn.com/general/Email

Thanks again. Given that I was using the free hotmail, it appears that I
cannot operate your suggestion ?
