I never said to get rid of it. In fact, you can't get rid of it.

My guess here is that you're sending the message in Outlook's RIch Text
format, which non-Outlook mail clients can't handle. The usual effect is
that the recipient sees no attachment. Try always sending your messages in
Plain Text (preferred, in my opinion) or HTML

If you wish to use Outlook Express for sending from time to time, open
Outlook Express, click Tools>Accounts, select your account, click
Properties, and uncheck the box that says "Include this account when
checking for new messages". Then when you start Outlook Express, it won't
pull any messages from your mail server, leaving them there for Outlook.

I am very grateful for that tip re Outlook Express. i.e. stopping mail
entering it.
The other problem was a stupid mistake on my part. In changing my settings
via a LAN connection I had used my broadband address and password . As soon
as I changed it to the main email address and password everything worked.
