I had an oversize pst file and when repair/truncation failed, I imported an
older copy from another laptop. This worked, and I was able to import some of
the missing folders of e-mail from the truncated file.

But when I typed in distribution lists and some names  into e-mail address
lines in e-mails I want to send, what I got were the uncorrected versions. So
I moved the inactive pst files to another drive. But now I can't get some
addresses and corrected distribution lists in my current contacts file on the
base computer to come up at all. When I go to the address book, I see there
are two contacts files (one empty), and go to the second one which is the one
I want. I can't seem to get rid of the empty one, and when I type address
lists into e-mails. That's because it's empty, I guess -- but it remains on
top -- when I select the second contacts folder in the "Select Names" window,
it works. Just can't get rid of the first "Contacts" which is empty.

How can I get my current contacts to be my address book for e-mails, and
eliminate the one which now comes out on top?.

Related question: If I want to copy some contacts into a separate address
address book, how can I transfer the contacts from one to the other without
copying the whole address book
