Russ -- Thanks! I might have been unclear on my follow up question. Please
allow me to rephrase:
1. Contacts are sorted by File As... -- just as I want it.
2. Select Names box:
a. Name column sorted by and shows names in File AS... -- just as I want it.
b. Display Name column now displays names in the File As... format, BUT
I'd like it to display in First Last format -- which is what it was until I
made the changes necessary for the Name column to be sorted by File As... In
fact, I had originally entered the Display Name info, for each contact
record, as First Last.
Bottom line: is there a way to have the Select Names box show the Name
column sorted by File As... and the Display Name column displaying the name
as First Last?
THANKS AGAIN!
YJ
Examine the options for sorting the Outlook Address Book. They are:
1. First, Last
2. File As...
Clearly the option you request is not included.

Yes, but you'd need to modify each "Display As" field for each invidudual
electronic address to be First, Last.

Russ,
There isn't any way to sort the list back to its original format. When i
migrated to a new computer it resorted my lists before I could set it up not
to.

Why? Migrating data correctly would never touch your File As... field. The
only way your File As... field would be touched is if you migrated
incorrectly, like by importing for example.
How did you migrate your data?
To which "list" are you referring that you want to "resort?"
