"file as" lastname, firstname

I am using Outlook 2003 SP2, Win XP

I have my contacts folders set to display names in the lastname, firstname
order.  When I click on the "To:" button when creating an email message the
list shows some names sorted lastname, firstname and others sorted firstname,
lastname.  (I would like them ALL sorted in lastname, firstname order.)  I
have set this order as default in the contacts list, and have checked the
properties of every contact to make sure it is in this order.  I have
restarted the computer and Outlook.  Can anyone tell me what else to try?
This seems to be a recurring issue in the list, but I couldn't find a
solution.

many thanks, Todd

You make this setting in the Outlook Address Book, not the Contacts Folder:
Tools > E-mail accounts > View or change existing directories or address
books > Outlook Address Book > Change. > Set your sort order there

Perfect.  Many thanks!!!

Just to be clear for others with the same problem: the change only takes
place after you quit and restart Outlook.
