I have deleted a distro list by accident. I have a backed up copy of outlook
and need to access the file that contains the distro list and contactsy.  I
can get to the backed-up copy of outlook - I just don't know how to access
the distro list.  Hope that makes sense.
Thanks in advance.

So, look in your Deleted Items folder.  That's where deleted items go.

Backing up Outlook itself does not back up your data.  Outlook, by default,
lives in
%ProgramFiles%\Microsoft Office and your data resides either in your mailbox
(if you're using Exchange), or in your PST, whose default home is
%UserProfile%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook

If it's not in your Deleted Items folder and you have a backup of your PST,
open it in Outlook with File>Open>Outlook Data File, select its Contacts
folder, locate your DL and copy it (right-click and drag, choose copy) to
your active Contacts folder.  If you're using Exchange, open Deleted Items
and click Tools>Recover Deleted Items, if that menu item is active.  If none
of these apply, you'll have to create it again manually.

Thanks Brian.  None of those suggestions worked.  Can't figure out what I
did.  I am going to recreate.  Thanks again.
