Restore deleted contacts

I deleted all my contacts any idea how to retrieve them?

drag them from the deleted items folder back into the Contacts folder.

I deleted them with Shift+Delete they are not in the deleted items folder.
Any ideas?

If you're using an Exchange server and the admins have enabled Deleted Item
Retention, you can use that. While in the Deleted Items folder, click
Tools>Recover Deleted Items. If you're not connected to Exchange, see if

Restore them from the Deleted Items Folder.
