Is there a preference I can select to deselect the automatic addition of
Country designation to mailing addresses in Contacts?    Or can I choose
fields which make up the mailing address?   Having "United States of America
show up on mailing labels is unnecessrary.

It is impossible to answer your question when you do not include your
version or the method by which you are entering the address. I'm sure you
know those things, but please do not assume we do. How could we?
