I am transferring a pst file from an old computer to a new computer.
I've noticed that in the new computer, I receive the "Can't Open thi
item." error when I double click a Journal entry in the Activities Ta
of Contacts.  I can open the item with no problems on the old PC.
Please assist

Depends on how you transferred your data. If you did so incorrectly all
links will be broken.

You didn't tell us anything. I can think of at least 5 ways you could "just
transfer." If you simply overwrote a PST file, then for sure you broke all
links and corrupted your profile.
You haven't provided your Outlook version. Read the Help files for the
current version:

We use an E2K exchange server and the Outlook version is Outlook 200
SP3, version number 9.0.0.6627.  We moved the PST file from the old P
to the new PC.  We removed the existing pst file on the new computer
and linked outlook to the pst file from the old computer.  Afte
recieving the error message from outlook, we ran a scan on the ps
file.  The scan did not uncover any errors.  The scan was performed o
the pst file while it was on the new PC.  Please let me know what othe
information you might need to help me trouble shoot this problem.
Thanks for your help.

I found some new information on the problem.  The "Can't open this item
error occurs on journal entries that I have marked as private.  If it'
not marked private the item opens with a double click.  Any ideas o
how to fix this issue

No. None. I still have no information on how you migrated your data or why
you would be using a PST file with Exchange Server.
