We just recently took all of our employees' contact lists and dumped them in
to a public contact folder. Upon doing that we keep getting weird problems
with the contact items. This time the Full Name field displays the last name
first (Doe John instead of John Doe). This would normally not matter, but in
the address book view it shows the last name first, which is technically how
we want it to appear, but it is not consistent. The contact items displaying
the full name as Doe John show up in the address book view sorting by last
name, but those that have John Doe will sort by first name, which is how it
has pretty much always been. Is there any way to either change all the John
Doe entries in to Doe John or vice versa other then going through and
manually changing it?

The Outlook Address Book does not use the Full Name field.
Have you tried just specifying the correct sort order for the Outlook
Address Book?

And where would I do that?

Depends on your Outlook version, which you never posted.
