I restored a friend's contact list into Outlook 2003 from Outlook 2000.
When he tries to use it as an address book to send new mail it inserts
the name correctly in the TO: field but it doesn't include the email
address....so the send fails as invalid email address....even though
the email address is included in the record. Has anyone seen this
before?

Thanks

You did not provide enough information.
How did you "restore" this Contact list?
It appears to me you did so incorrectly.
How is the email address being selected?

Thanks for the reply, Russ.
The original Outlook 2000 pst was over the 2gb limit. I used a 3rd
party tool to repair and convert the pst to an Outlook 2003 pst file.
All of the folders and emails were restored correctly. The contacts
folder is populated. I can add a new contact and email and then compose
a new email. When I click on the TO and find the name I just entered
the email gets sent....the TO box shows both the contact name and email
address. If I do the same but for one of the contacts that was in the
list frombefore, just the name shows in the TO box, no email
address...even though the contact contains that person's email address.

Then the Contacts were not "restored" correctly, were they? Examine the
fields more carefully. I suspect you'll find the email address field is not
valid.
