I have a rather large list of contact names/eamils in an
excel spread sheet that i would like to create contacts
for in outlook. anyone knwo how to do this and if it
possible?

if not can you run a mail merge direct from this excell
file, perhaps sending it to access first

Have you tried File Import and Export... from Microsoft
Excel?
i have not imported from excel before but i know it works
beautifully from access. i presume it would be the same
process...

Even better, try the same from Outlook. There you will see the ability to
import from Excel. Remember to name the range of cells in Excel from which
you want to import, and to map your fields accurately.
