mail merge postal code and country code reversed

From MS Word Mail Merge - Step 3 of 6. I have selected on step 2 to get
receipents from outlook contacts. the list comes up BUT on some of the
addresses the postal code and the country code are REVERSED. United States of
America is in the Zip Code Field and the Zip Code is in the Country Code
field. Please fix this and if there is a quick solution please advise.... my
holiday card mailing is on hold until I can fix this. Please? :-)

Step 3 of 6 of what?
Outlook version? Word version?
You were there. We weren't. Spell it out.
While you do, post the precise layout of your merge fields.
