When adding contacts with a message open, I would like to see the Contact by
Last Name, First Name.  Despite chaning the display as, etc., the list will
only come up by First Name Last Name.  Three tech guys can't figure out how
to change it. Outlook 2002

Your post is unclear. What do you mean by "adding contacts with a message
open?"
What list is it you are trying to sort?

I would like to use the (To) button and open my Contacts in order to add a
name to a new email.  Despite chaning contact listings to show Last Name,
First Name and also the Display as, when the pull up box comes up the names
are always First Name Last Name.  I would like to switch the order.  Thanks.

That's the most frequently posted question in this group. You just need to
sort the Outlook Address Book.
Go to Tools > E-mail accounts > View or change existing directories or
address books > Outlook Address Book > Change. > Set your sort order there
