Contact Filing - mass change

Currently all my contacts are filed as Company Name, Last Name, First Name.  
I'm trying to re-file all of my contacts as Last Name, First Name, Company
Name without individually touching each contact.  I see how I can
automatically file new contacts in this format but is there a way change the
file format in existing contacts?

To which field are you referring? To which Outlook version are you
referring?
If you are using the File As field to sort by, then read this:
