I need help!! Mess of Contacts

I have messed up my contacts and need help to do a mail merge. When I try to
do a mail merge, I get a pop up that says "This operation cannot be completed
because of dialog or database engine failures. Please try again later" What
do I do to get back my information???

There is no information here that would permit even a guess.
State what you did to lose the connection to your Contacts.
State your Outlook version.
State how your Outlook Address Book is configured.
List the steps that produce the error message.
