I have a fairly new install of Office 2003, and when I enter a note in the
Contact record, sometimes it is saved with the record, and sometimes not. I
actually had one that I had pasted info into three times only to have it
disappear, then later it showed up! I also have a Pocket PC with Activesync
4.1 and Windows Mobile 5

what does active sync do when you have conflicts? it could be replacing the
outlook copy with the ppc copy. Also - if you have more than one contacts
folder, do you have duplicate contacts?

I do have more than one contacts folder at the moment, as I have just
imported a number of contacts from Act! from my Palm. they are in a second
contacts folder (not under the main one). The behaviour happens even when the
PPc isn't in its cradle or when the usb is unplugged. Also, when I do have
the device plugged in, I am getting 'desktop overwrites handheld' on
appointments at least.

since my last reply, I had an error (crash) and that automatically suggested
checking for more info. I did that, and discovered an update or two
available. Downladed the updates, and now the sync is working properly (as in
syncing both ways.) There are some features that I think are seriously
missing, but that for another (new) post. Thanks for responding.
