Using Outlook 2003. In the "Contacts Properties" box the option "Show this
folder as an email address book" is greyed out. I have followed
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/assistance/HA010771141033.aspx and
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;287563&Product=ol2002
but to no avail.
The problem developed while using Outlook 2000 and migrated to 2003 when I
upgraded.
Any ideas anyone?

Install the Outlook Address Book service into your mail profile. Click
Tools>E-mail Accounts>Add a new directory or address book>Next. Select
Additional Address Books and click Next. Select Outlook Address Book.
Click Next, then Finish. Stop and restart Outlook. You should now be able
to check that "Show this folder" option.
