When toggling from my Contacts to Mail to Contacts,  is there any way to
maintain the selections from a search list, rather than returning to my full
contact list?

Also... is there any way to rearrange the fields in the Search bar?

And finally, is there any way to have my "mail" "contact" etc. fields moved
from the bottom left of my screen to the top?  Or to move my contact search
bar to the bottom.  This would prevent me having to navigate from bottom to
top every time I am searching for a contact... Or better yet, is there any
way to do a contact search while I am in "mail" mode?

The easiest answer to all your questions is to use Advanced Find instead of
Find.  Then you can choose your folder(s) for searching from the Advanced
Find dialog and it won't change your regular Outlook view at all.
CTRL+SHIFT+F brings up the Advanced Find dialog quickly.
