outlook 2003 address book problems

My address book does not work at all.  I have recently changed computers
upgrading from Outlook 2000 to 2003.  I followed some instructions to copy my
outlook.pst file from the computer with 2000 and paste it into the relevant
folder in 2003.  This seems to have worked a treat for everything, all mail
folders and contacts have come accross ok.

My problem lies in that my address book can't see my contacts folder.  I've
made sure that the folder is enabled as an address book and changed all of
the setting within the address book to look to contacts but whenever I try
and open it it says it has been moved, deleted or I don't have permission,
which I do this computer is stand alone.

Could it be something to do with the fact that I now have two copies of all
my folders. I now have 'contacts' and 'contacts in personal folders'

Could someone please help????

Hmmmm, try removing all the folders listed here then reselect the Contacts
folder as an address book: Tools menu > Email accounts > View/change
existing address books > Click Next > Highlight Outlook Address Book > Click
Change

This is really the wrong approach.  You're lucky if things work correctly.

You've corrupted your mail profile by transferring your data incorrectly.
Create a new mail profile, point it at the correct PST, and both problems
should be solved.
