Outlook should have the ability to specify which email account to use for sending messages which would override the default account for designated contacts. For the obvious reason - you have to remember to do it every time. If you have different email accounts for different purposes, then the ideal is to assign classes of users to default to those accounts. Better yet, set up a signature for each account that has the account settings or at least the name to remind you. Then use Word as the editor and when you switch your signature to match your account, your account is also switched. Besides, how would you define a rule that would be configurable to select your sending account without Outlook mind reading? But if it does it automatically, where is the option to override? You are thinking like a human, computers do what you tell them and are not subject to whims. Currently Outlook by default sends using your default account and you can override this when you create the email. All Dave is asking is that the default is taken from the Contact record and again can be overridden if you want to use a different account. Sounds like I have the same situation as Dave, by default I have a number of Dlists that I send to using different accounts (99.999% of the time the account for a particular Dlist is always the same).
