I have six sub-directories listed under "Contacts" in
Outlook 2002. I do not want to mix the names by having
them all in the Contacts folder. I am presently unable to
create a conduit between the sub-directories and the
Contact folder that will "activesync" to my new Ipaq
Pocket PC. Is ther a procedure that I am missing? I am
sure many others have found the need to keep name and
address directories seperate on their mobile devices. It
appears there should be a straight forward solution to my
problem. Your assistance would be very much appreciated.

ActiveSync cannot handle multiple contacts folders. You'll need to either combine them or use a different synchronization tool -- see http://www.slipstick.com/addins/olpda.htm

Yes it is possible Sue , I've 4 different contact folders and the contacts
in the public folder.
I'm using OPCS.exe from Microsoft. Underneath you find the link
office.microsoft.com/downloads/2002/opcs.aspx

Good luck with it Jim,

Ashok

But that's not ActiveSync handling multiple contacts folders, right? OPCS does the copying (NOTE: not true two-way synchronization) from source folders to the main Contacts folder, and ActiveSync syncs that *one* folder.
