How to sort >10 items numerically 1-10, not 1-10-2-3-4-5- etc.

Is it possible to sort ten contacts as 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10 instead of
1-10-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9?

Sort in what field? If it's a text field, then they'd need to be 01-02- ... -09-10.
