Outlook should detect and fix duplicate/similar entries

Is this possible? Plaxo has this function (but I'm too cheap to upgrade) -
I'm thinking this could be good Microsoft upgrade/solution

Similar entries where? How similar? You might have a good suggestion, but it will take more details to flesh it out.

If I try to add a contact with the same name as an already existing contact
Outlook does ask about it.
