can not creat distribution list

I try to make a distribution list and Outlook sends message that the contacts
folder is missing or not available. I recently tranfered my contacts to the
Outlook folder and they are there in the contacts when I click on contacts...
why will it not allow me to make a distribution list? How can I tell it
where the contacts are?

See my post from a couple of days ago about a "shadow contacts folder" and
the responses. I think I had the same problem and it was solved.
