I've linked specific Outlook contacts to related information in a non-outlook
folder.  A .lnk file.  Now outlook blocks the attachment, and since I can't
see it, I can't remove it.  Any suggestions on how to remove the attachment?

A registry entry lets you customize the list of blocked files so that you can see .lnk files (and thus be able to remove them). See http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/esecup/getexe.htm#ol2002 for links to info and tools.

Or if that's too much trouble, just ignore it. It's harmless.
