I was trying to drag and drop related contact records into one in order to
consolidate all of my contact info for each person, but apparently dragging
and dropping isn't an option...is there a way that I can combine related
records without manually typing in the additions or cutting and pasting the
info?

You tried to drag a Contact Record into another Contact Record?
No. How would that tell Outlook how you wanted to combine information?

See http://www.slipstick.com/addins/contacts.htm for several tools that can help you merge duplicate records.
