speakers and microphone defaults

When I use my auto dial the computer uses the small internal spaeker rather
than my desk top speakers and I can't get it to accept my microphone. Also
when it conects it cuts off the small speaker volume

Not an Outlook question.
Outlook uses the Windows dialer, which has no support for voice modems.
