When making recurring appointments, the Private box in the lower right corner
is not active denying me the ability to make this calendar item private.

Is there some other way to accomplish this?

What version of Outlook are you using? I just checked that scenario with
OL2003 and it seemed to be OK

Vince,
I'm running Outlook 2003.  Right after I posted my question I figured out
how to do it.

Right click on one of the recurring appointments and select Edit Series
which will activate the main recurring appointment and the Private box is
activated allowing you to make the appointment seris private.

Thanks for the quick response!
