yes I stored the fax numbers in the business fax field. What do you mean are
they resolved. Thank you.

Underlined. That indicates Outlook recognizes them as valid electronic
addresses. If they're not underlined, they won't show up.

Russ,
I've always been confused by this issue of address book vs. Outlook
contacts. You're right that Outlook contacts that don't have valid
electronic addresses don't appear in the address book, but I'm left
wondering what the address book is used for when you have Outlook contacts?
I guess the question for TotallyConfused has to be; do the contacts that
don't appear in the address book appear in the Outlook contacts folder? If
they do, then you did import them correctly, but as Russ says, some of them
don't have resolved electronic addresses.

Actually there is very little use for the Address Book in Outlook. It is
simply a listing of all the electronic addresses in the Contacts Folder. It
is usually better to use the Contacts Folder directly to access Contacts
data. That's the way Outlook was designed. The Address Book view is created
for those users who cannot wean themselves from the address book concept.

okay what I am understanding is if I do not have an email and it is not
underscored then my contact will not appear in my contact folder? Then how
do you explain the contacts that did make it to my contacts folder. Is there
anyway around this? I just need to have Name, phone number and fax number.
What I am doing with these contact's fax numbers, I am faxing from Outlook.
So only fax numbers and names are important right now. Any help will be
greatly appreciated. thank you.

Do not confuse the Contacts Folder with the address book. All data is stored
in the Contacts Folder. No data is stored in an address book. The address
book is simply a view of the electronic addresses that in your Contacts
Folder.
