Maybe a dumb questions, but if the folder doesn't appear on the Folder List navigation pane, how do you know it's there at all?

When I check the size of the contacts folder (right click contacts on
the big button below the folder list navigation pane) and check the
folder size it appears.

So, in the Folder List navigation pane, do you see any subfolders for the default Contacts folder?
Is this in a .pst file or an Exchange mailbox?
