I've lost all my categories in my contact list.  How do I get it back?
Outlook is also telling me I can't sort by category.

Thanks

Category sort is meaningless and impossible since any contact may be listed
under multiple categories.
List the steps you used to lose your Categories and why you think they are
lost.

I was trying to merge out an email, followed the steps to merge, but couldn't
select categories.  I'm pretty sure that I was able to sort via categories
last time I merged out, because the steps were different.  I never got a
window asking me to type in the subject line...I just went by the subject
line on my outlook email and everything was fine.

Thanks

Then your categories aren't lost at all. You have never been able to sort a
mail merge from Word by Category. To sort a mail merge by category, you must
start the merge from Outlook and use the By Category view to start the
merge. Merge to the Contacts you select in the By Category view.
