hi to all.... I have a question....

I used to log on on my win 2000 as Administrator. have updated the computer
to win xp and now my options to log on are the owner of the company (let's
call it Lula) or Guest. so, I log on as the owner and I tried to set up the
Outlook and I went to the old My documents (admin) and copied them to the new
one (lula) and I can see all my emails. I can send and receive fine, but I've
lost my contacts. I don't have anything there and I don't know how to get
them back.

isn't it supposed to copy my emails and contacts all together???
what am I doing wrong or what is the next step to do??

if anybody can help me, I would appreciate it.
thank you for your help in advance.

Since your Contacts are stored in the Contacts folder in the very same file
your Email is stored, it's completely impossible for you to see the mail and
not see the contacts unless you migratede the data incorrectly.  If you
describe in detail how you migrated the data (being sure to include your
Outlook version), then someone will be able to tell you why you can't see
your Contacts.

hi brian... what my boss did to move the emails to the new outlook, is to
copy the only pst file that was under admin and pasted it under the lula one.
she doesn't remember the name of it though, but she claims that it was the
only one there. The outlook version, I'm positive that is Outlook 2002.

My boss is on a bussiness trip, so I couldn't talk to her to much about it,
but that's what she said she did with the pst file.

thank you and I'll try to get some more information when she comes back. but
I do have to update 2 more machines from win 2000 to win xp... do you think
I'm going to have the same issue???

thank you again for your help!

How did you access the mail in that PST?  I asked you to describe in detail
how you migrated the data.  You told me only a portion of it (how you moved
the file) but not all of it (how you got the mail to appear in Outlook).
