A while back, I created a custom form for new contacts that I create
manually (it had a greater emphasis on home details rather than
business details). In the contacts list these are identifiable with a
pin and paper icon.
I recently tried to transfer all my outlook contacts into my new phone
through synchronisation, but encountered a problem with these contacts
- they won't synch into my new phone. It seems that all I have to do to
correct this is to transfer all these contacts on to 'normal' contact
forms... can this be done easily? The contacts with the normal contact
icon synched fine.
Many thanks in advance!

Can't answer you question, but can you tell me how you got the form to be THE
one for your new contacts? I've customised contacts cards but they seem to
only stay with the card i customised and I can't use the new look as the
default for all new contacts?

You need to change the MessageClass on the existing items to point to the default IPM.Contact class. See http://www.outlookcode.com/d/newdefaultform.htm#convert for several tools and scripts to accomplish this.
