When I'm composing a new message, Outlook 2002 SP-2 "auto completes" the
entry using an out-of-date address despite my having made changes in the
Contacts folder.  Does Outlook keep a listing of previously used addresses.
If so, is there a way to purge this list?  If not, what's causing the
problem?  Many thanks.

Your autocompletion cache has nothing to do with your Contacts.
Remove individual addresses from the autocompletion cache by highlighting
the entry when presented in the suggested names list (use your arrow key to
migrate to the entry) and then hitting your Delete key before you tab out of
the field.
