I just reinstalled windows and Office XP pro on my system. I backed up my
entire hard drive before I did that. I need to retreive my contact list from
my backed up drive. I forgot to export my contacts before I reinstalled
windows. Is there any way I can get my contacts back?

You shouldn't have exported your Contacts in the first place.
Just open your previous Outlook Data File in your new installation.
The file you need is your Personal Folders file (*.pst) It's where all the
mail, calendar, contacts etc are stored.

Take a look at these pages for info on Outlook data backup or transfer:

Even if it happened the file was erased it is still possible to restore
it using data recovery tool. I've used Undelete, it worked and never
ever failed, so imho you can rely on it if you really need the lost
files back.
