I've imported a file successfully to Outlook but want to change the default
setting  from Last Name, First Name to Last Name, First Name (Company).  In
Tools - Options, I had changed the Contact Options for New Contacts to Last
Name, First Name (Company) and then imported but the contacts still are
displaying Last Name, First Name.

"Default setting?" To which field might you be referring?
If you are referring to the File As... field, your settings will not apply
to Contacts you import, so you'll have to change them yourself.

Thanks for your reply Russ.  Yup, I was referring the File As field.  So, I'm
going to have to change each of the thousands of contacts myself?  No other
option, huh?Yikes!!

You can use code to do it if you want:

I'm not a programmer so it looks pretty intimidating.  Maybe after a glass of
wine!
